Leo is a 13-year-old German Warmblood who came to the US from Germany in August 2004. In
Germany, he had trained and competed in dressage. He had been imported for someone else at
the barn, but they did not get along. On a whim, Jess decided to try him out. Jess was told that
he had jumped before, and while still green, he knew the basics. Unfortunately, it became
apparent that he had never jumped before in his life! However, Jess had fallen in love with him,
and decided to take take him on in November of 2004.
Leo attended college with Jess in the fall of 2005, where both trained and showed in
Hunters/Jumpers. Leo enjoyed his new disciplines and excelled in his classes, especially if they
were over 2'9. Unfortunately, Jess hurt her back, and she was forced to cut back on
riding, so now most days, Leo spends his time being a professional lawn ornament.
Having found he excels in his new lifestyle, he enjoys eating, playing with his buddies LeQuel
and Landau, and thinking of ways to get his mom to give him more treats. A laid-back kind of
guy, he can be found in his stall or in the field, and is always willing to say hello.
